I'm A real dumba@@!!
Got my Dakota clip finished (which was a grueling task just like I was warned it would be)! got my motor and tranny in,and worked out several problems with steering linkage and shaft worked out(2003 dodge ram fit). Got front clip back on,did a readend flip which made it sit level. put a set of 17" bullett wheels on it and was ready to cruse it!!! BUT, forgot how much tranny fluid spilled out the tail shaft 4 years earlier when i took the motor tranny combo out. By the time it, (tranny) started making any noise it was toast. tried new fluid and LUCAS and no luck. : ( ...So now I got to put another transmission in before slickstock......

Doooohhhhhhhhhh! what trany was it?
why put off till tommorow what you can put off alltogether
Re: I'm A real dumba@@!!
That sucks man. So about this dakota swap. Did you just weld the x member and the mounts for the suspension in or did you literally use the whole front frame clip? I'm getting ready to do the same on my truck but I'm totally in the dark about where to start. Any advice or help you could offer would be greatly apperciated.

Not the first time this has never happened. I'm sure most of us have had a similar problem. But I have a solution. When you know you're having a problem you'll need to address later, take some painters tape and put a note on the windshield.
I have several notes on my windshield and it helps keep me focused. Well, maybe more than several, but you get the point..............................

I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

Sounds like a good plan, Skip, but in my case, I'd never be able to see out my windshield

Dont beat yourself up over a mistake....

& if somebody says different
they are probably lying
best way NOT to make mistakes is sit on a couch (not as fun though)

Cooter ...It is one of those newer 5 speed out of a 93 f-150 that takes the ATF.
lo6fo....I used the Dakota cross member and fabbed a weld in type kit and used my frame all the way to the bumper.
Wouldn't have been so bad if I had a spare 400.00 laying around to replace it.(You guys) know how it is, all the time money and work ,and finally I can drive it and its running really sweet and your listning to the pipes and then (BOOM) your back to admireing it from the livingroom window AGAIN!
