Congrats! Your search for some stainless hub caps of that style was a big hint :-)

ezernut9mm,

Nice looking '66 Shorty!

What do you know about those backup lights?
Have you had a chance to see how well they work yet (in the dark)?

They look pretty period-correct....I wonder what they came off of or where they came from?

they were dealer installed. when cam owned the truck it was missing one of the glass lenses. i think he found the one on an old packard. i think they are a universal piece. i have seen similar on other cars as front turn signals etc. they don't work at the moment so i can't say how well they light up the back. if i ever get them working i will let you know.

So glad it went to a good home :D
polished up & shiny hubcaps and that truck will kickazz

now find some R-12 and get that AC charged coldwithsnow.gif

i think the backup light switch was a simple switch mounted on the colum in the engine bay
when it went into rev it made contact.... pretty simple to trouble shoot

pat, this switch is a toggle under the dash. i just haven't had time to look into it. the a/c is charged and working. on the way home yesterday the idler pulley went south and almost burnt the belt off. i will get a new bearing and it should be good to go.
