Re: Fiberglass headliners
I would like that without the overhead radio too. I would prob get one..let us know what the response is thenephilm. I assume that would tuck behind the metal corners in the custom cabs and the two corner pieces wont have to be used?

Re: Fiberglass headliners
Guys, its fiberglass. Cut the console out and glass in a patch. You're going to cover it anyway.
Besides, an old school CB would be bitchin' up there.

Just buy two and piece them together
He might be able to do one for a "factory" crew, but I would suspect that the "coach-builder" built crews are all different lengths.

Re: Fiberglass headliners
Looks like the top piece comes down to about where the factory metal pieces stop. Not sure if all the slicks have that metal corner or if it is just the custom cab. I like the metal i think it looks cool.
Am i correct can you leave the fiberglass corners off and use the factory corners?

Re: Fiberglass headliners
yep, just the custom cabs have the trim around the door like that and as far as i know no one reproduces them.
you could leave the corner pieces off i would guess, but why?

Re: Fiberglass headliners
The radio/CB pod is growing on me. A smoothed dash with just A/C controls....Hmmmm
Re: Fiberglass headliners
Yeah, Dan... it's growing on me as well. i really like it! too bad shipping would be 150+dollars
the guy is looking for a better cheaper way to ship.
hope he finds one!

Re: Fiberglass headliners
Looks as if you could fit an entire instrument panel/ entertainment system/ speaker setup in that box. Like Dan stated, might be a good solution, though. I have a full shelf in one of my trucks, and it bothers the h--- out of me. I'd have to stick a shoebox up there to determine if it were something I could live with.
As Skip stated, it's easily modified. As he also has stated, considering the $550.00 cost, it would be relatively simple to take the soon-to-be removed Uni roof section and use it for a mold with a less intrusive overhead console. With Ipods, Androids, etc., and a good amplifier, it wouldn't take much room to have a clean looking, semi-hidden setup, which could even provide all instrumentation functions for an OBD-II powertrain. I currently access, and could data-log, numerous functions with no more than a cheap reader via Bluetooth to an Android.

Re: Fiberglass headliners
one thing to mention when i talked with the seller, he does not know if they will fit the 62-63 trucks with the lower roof.

I like the look of the metal corners instead of fiberglass corners. I just wonder if the fiberglass roof will tuck behind the metal corners or if the fiberglass corners are ment to go over the metal like the factory fabric did.
Re: Fiberglass headliners
I like it. There is so little offered for Slicks, you gotta love a guy who makes an effort.
