What have you done to your slick today??

Post by Harper »

lacking motivation, is key to NOT doing or acomplishing anything on our slicks....there fore...I started this thread, to hopefully motivate some who need motivation, (as well as myself) it does not have to be anything HUGE, it can be a simple "i changed my slicks oil" or "I washed my slick", I hope the moderators do not mind....with that said.

WHAT have you done to your slick today?

If you sent your Truck out to a restoration shop, you did NOT build it, jus sayin!

I changed the throttle position sensor today. The torque converter was locking and unlocking at random. The shop manual says that this can be the problem otherwise I have to take it back to the tranny guy to get it checked out.
Now I need to go drive it and see if it fixed the problem.
Not much motivation but I did something.

Well, started laying out the splash pan for the longbed, block-sanded all the white on the two-tone, chased to LKQ to find drip rails and mo' bumpers- no luck on either; dug out the replacement window components, then read the forum and found the name of the one-piece window kit supplier. I also crawled under the 65 shorty to determine the angularity of the tie rods in answer to a post here. Then I determined the "cut lines" for the BBW conversion on the red uni, and purchased replacement "combo chains" for the tow truck. Lots of motivation; Ol' Marais in ten days, Cruisin' the Coast coming up next month, then Houston Autorama, never a dull moment!

Chased down a rattle in the driver side door today. Looks like the felt on the anti-rattlers finally wore out. Tomorrow i start on my rewire. Gonna be a bit of a chore but should be worth it.

I did some more metal work like ken464 and MadMaxetc. I got the bed floor patch panel trimmed and fitted - pretty much ready to weld in.

Took a few pics but they didn't turn out.

Sanded, painted, cleared, wet sanded and polished the filler hole in the cab, replaced the fuel sending unit gasket, filler tube hose and filler tube to cab gasket.
Now no gas fumes in the cab!
Degreased engine and then cleaned up all the over splatter on the windshield and cowl....
