bad and good luck 292

Post by dmsmith6 »

Bought a wrecked 63 F350 for parts 4 or 5 years back. Got the engine (292) running and it sounded great. Pulled out the engine and all other useable parts, scraped the wrecked/rusted mess left behind. The 292 sat on my garage floor for about a year and locked up. I can only guess from condensation (everything on my garage floor gets wet in the winter). Soaked the valve train/cylinders with oil, no luck. Moved the engine outside into the back of another parts truck and forgot about it. Decided to get rid of some things recently and sold the engine (as a locked up engine) for $50. After loading it for the new owner, we decided to put a ratchet on the crank. The damn thing turned over like a champ after sitting out for 2-3 years. Go figure, sold an engine that ran great for $50!!!!
