Industrial's tanks aren't big enough for the one piece bumpers anymore.

The tanks in Cuba, MO are 10' long, they don't have a problem doing big things.

A guy I know sends all his parts to http://www.ogdenchrome.com/

Lots of high end people and shops use them Jay Leno, Foose, Boyd, etc. They will pick up and return ship. My buddy was very happy with the quality and never had a bad thing to say other than you get what you pay for.

As I recall, some times of the year are slower than others, I just don't know which one. There's another place in Omaha where I bought the front bumper for my truck. It is called Bumper and Auto of Omaha on south 13th. They were reasonable and had one in stock for 64-66 trucks which I believe was actually for 67-72s, but who cares.

My co-worker said there's a guy in Sioux City that also does chrome work, but he had no specifics on the name of the shop or even which Sioux City (I think there are three) :? .

Some of us do care as the later bumpers do not fit right, wrong curvature.

Bringing this thread back from the dead.

Just got off the phone this evening from a guy that has one of my old race cars. He's restoring it and wanted some info on the car. While we were talking he mentioned since he owns a chrome shop it will have all the bling it needs, plus a little more.

After talking for almost an hour, I mentioned I was going to try to get an intake to the powder coater shop in his home town tomorrow and he wants me to stop by for the shop tour and to see my old car.

Going to see if he can do bumpers, what some of his work looks like and what kind of money he's talking. Will keep you posted!

Saw some of his work today. Really nice stuff sitting around the building.

His tanks are big enough to do our bumpers! He doesn't straighten but takes care to dings, etc with the copper layer. Copper, nickel and chrome process. Can do acid copper or cyanide copper depending on what the part needs for filler. Haven't found anyone that talks bad about him yet!

Cost for one of our bumpers would be around $400-450, you supply the usable core.

Going to try to get one done, maybe a few small parts first to check it out. Will keep you posted.

That sounds like a good price. I was checking chrome prices in Ohio for some bumpers and was looking at double that.

Steve, if you get the chance, ask him about plating aluminum, please!

I should see him Sunday morning at a swap meet. I'll ask. I know he will do pot metal and fill pits if they aren't real bad. That's why he used 2 different types of copper plate.
