Steering Column Question

Post by Antique Mechanic »

I just got done doing a power steering and automatic swap in my 65. And so I had to use a 78 steering column as usual. I'm not to find of the plastic pieces at the top I the steering column, I'd prefer it to be metal. Just wondering if I could take the plastic pieces off and swap on 67-72 metal parts? Would that be possible to do? Thanks, Cody

I used a floor shift column from a 70s truck on my 65. My old column parts fit the new column.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.
