1970 f100 mercury?

Post by sgettin »

I'm guessing someone customized this one? Never seen a 70 F100 merc but I'm also not up on the history either.

He said that it is titled as a ford, enough said.

All the bumpside Mercurys had Ford VINS. It is very hard to tell a fake.. in '68 the dealerships even rebadged them because they stopped making them in spring (March IIRC). But they were only available at Mercury dealers so if you had the original bill of sale from the dealership that would stand as proof it was a Merc. This truck has been rebadged by someone with some Canadian friends or a hot touch on an eBay clicker.
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

then really only need a few key parts
tailgate, letters and badges etc.

still these appear to have been on the cowl quite a while

i think JC has it right in his post.
could be some other canuck merc it back in 71.
looking at the pics and of the underside i doubt the truck was anywhere besides the desert in a very long time.

the 71 merc truck is like the factory 4x4 uni
just did not happen.

Yeah those cowl badges are even wrong. For a Bumpside they should look like this (except with a red background not clear)

those cowl badges ice showed are off a 65/66 like Toms, they are supposed go on the front fenders.
