Paint over Powdercoat?

Post by slixtyfive »

Has anyone ever scuffed a powder coat finish and painted over it? Did it last and if so, to what level did you scuff it?

Although I have never done it, powder coat is still just paint, so I'd expect it would be the same as any other over paint.

IMO properly applied powder coat is a great base to apply paint over. I scuff, shoot epoxy over and work from there. The epoxy is not necessary just my preference.
