Tightening the wiper switch/bezel

Post by "Whitey Ford" »

My wiper switch/bezel turns when i turn on the wipers so its not catching to turn the wipers on. How do you tighten the bezel to the dash? I tried holding the back of it and turning the bezel part but only barely tightens and frees up quickly.

The bezel should not turn. While pulling, and holding the stem tight to the dash, tighten the round nut with two notches inside the bezel. I had one where the p.o. put the nut on backwards so the notches where facing the dash. Lots of cussing that day :cussing:

What did you use to tighten it? A small screw driver pushing the part where the notches are?

I did the same as brian with the socket. Needle nose plyers will work in a pinch as well

Use the close up feature and look close at the right hand side of the tool they show.
Just grind off both sides of the socket face, leaving a little nub on both sides of center, so that it fits the slots in the nut.
