62 f250 with the 292. Temp gauge reading ~130 degrees after warmed up. Have a 180 degree thermostat in there. Heat works. Is there a way to test the one wire sensor or just buy one and replace it and go from there? Is there a way to test the gauge to make sure it is working correctly? Thanks.
new sensor $13, temp gauge now reading normal
coolant temp gauge reading low-how to test?--fixed

thermometer comes to mind with engine running, radiator cap off, just as thermostat opens.
harbor freight has a point and shoot temp laser that works quite well if you want to test a closed system, check head temps ect..
