more parts downgrades

Post by ICEMAN6166 »

i always bought standard blue streak ignition parts
found out today they killed that line a few years ago.
now i had to get standard ignitions top of the line "hecho en mexico"
they look cheap with no oil wiper on them, the contact is smaller too. ugh.
glad they were only $6 but i guess i have 2 choices
buy a handful or go with pertronix
pretty sure i wont get 3 years out of the new points.

older i get the less fun climbing up in the engine bay and laying on top the engine anymore to install and adjust the points.

i think its a conspiracy between age and parts quality trying to get me to change.

Brian you can also check with Napa. Their Echlin line of products
I remember to be quality stuff. Bought points and condensor from
there many times. Hopefully there is one near Dove Creek. TR
