Battery Hold Down

Post by F164 »

My 64 F100 battery is sitting in the tray with no hold down.

I have looked at the catalogs and am a bit confused on what parts I need to order.

I have a group 27 marine battery. It is the battery that was in the truck when I bought it, so until it goes bad Im going to keep it.

I have not seen a 64 with the correct hold down so I don't know what it should look like.

Can anyone give me a parts list for what I need?

Here's What Mine Looks Like, I Got It Out Of A 64' At The Junkyard. I Recently Made One For Connies Truck, I Got The Threaded Bolt From Lmc And Fabricated The Top Piece Using A Piece Of Flat-Bar. Not Sure If It Is Correct Or Not But It Works.. :2cents: Image Image

Shadow shows you all the pieces except the hold down top piece. It ran around the perimeter on mine an had eyes the threaded studs went thru on each side. Another thing to consider is he posts should not be under the pinch weld in the firewall, they should be towards the front of the truck or you risk shorting it out on a good bump.

I ordered the hold down from LMC. I think I got everything, their diagram is pretty good.

A lot of people don't like the quality of LMCs parts, I don't know, Ive only bought odds and ends from them, but I will give them credit for being speedy. I placed an online order about midnight last night. I decided I wanted a extra horn brush, so I called them this morning at 9am to add it to my order. To late, the order was gone.
