Installing sway bar 66 f100 front

Post by tomrooster »

After market sway bar that I removed from another truck and it was mounted on each axle with angle bolted thru the axle about 3" closer to center from where the wishbone ? bolts to axle then bolted on frame in front of cross member and it was linked together with long bolts and rubber mounting hardware . Does this sound right? Thanks Tom

Wish I could help you with this one as I've got a brand new Hellwig sway bar and I hope to install it when it cools off (i'm in AZ desert). Best of luck getting some advice out there and if you do I hope you don't mind sharing it with me.

Personally I would get a original Ford Set up for sway bars, the 73/79 trucks had 2,, 73/74 you had to use the radius arms as well to complete it, 75/79 it just had a bracket that unbolted off the radius arms

thanks for the directions Tom, had no idea they were on a supplier's website. I've got Dream Beams on mine, but I'll figure it out.

X2

I used my original forged radius arms rather than the latter stamped ones.
I just had to grinding a notch for the sway bar brackets.
If it cain't be fixed with a sledge hammer it must be an electrical problem!
