Got some new tires

Post by ThinLizzy13 »

Picked up some 235/85R16 tires for my 66 F250. I'm pretty happy with them. I think they fill the wheel well nicely and also my speedometer is dead on now!

Before - 8.75R16.5 tires

After - 235/85R16

The 8.75R16.5's on the back ended up going to the front because they still had full tread, and I only have two 16" rims at the moment. Next up is an alignment...the tires that were on the front got ate up on the inside.

Took the new wheels out for a cruise around the Finger Lakes region this weekend. Put about 300 miles on the truck and picked up about 2mpg with the new tires. Pretty good weekend 8)

Liszt,
Your new tires are the same as I've got on my 66-250.Put new ones on about two months ago.My Speedo is still off about 10mph @60.I'm running a C-6 but haven't looked into changing the tranny gear,someday....Nothing like crusing with new rubber.
Congrads,
Dan

Mine was off by about 5-8. It was a nice surprise to have it be accurate for the first time. Idk if it actually rode any better, but it sure "felt" like it did with the fresh rubber

I like the look of those cooper stt tires. If I had a 4wd I'd probably pick some up too.
