Post by Voodoo66 »

Anyone here running a Fatmans Fab Mustang II front suspension? If so what do you think about the ride? Im Building a '64 F100 right and put the crown vic front suspension in but I also have the mustang II that I am contemplating using because of the wheels I have. Id appreciate any info you guys and gals could extend my way. Much appreciated.

I have yet to complete my Fatman setup, so no authoritive info on ride quality. I have quality coil-overs, and thus have the ability to adjust as wanted. Mark VIII irs with air bags will complete the rear. Advantages ( IMO) are the clean simplicity and proven design as well as the ability to retain stock wheels if desired. Quick and economical replacement parts are also a plus. Only disadvantage to me was changing the pan and oil pickup to allow clearance, although this gave me the opportunity to utilize a larger capacity pan. Ths truck came to me as a roller; if I were to build for my own use, my hands-down choice would be the IC Dakota conversion. I have had good support from Fatman, especially in view of my not being the original purchaser.

i put the I C Dakota under my 64 and am extremely happy , almost plug-n-play, and definitely Jeff-proof. i went that route because it's made for our FRAME and it moves your front tire ahead to center up in the wheel well and i was told you get more suspension :2cents: you can look at my build , i think i put the pics on there. I respect your recommendations and appreciate the information you have extended me.......the only reason I suggested the two suspensions is bc I have these two available and am not looking to buy another setup that may not be used.
