a Question about wiring dash

Post by tomrooster »

65/66 f100 dash with optional amp and oil pressure gauges . The standard wiring harness has wires for the constant voltage for the temp and fuel gauges but the optional harness for the amp and oil pressure also has the same color (blk/green strip) and same connectors for a constant voltage sender only to be used by the oil pressure . I don't have a place to connect these except on the 1 oil gauge . I have a wiring diagram but it's not shown and I got all the wires connected except these and I would like to button up the dash. I do have a little square box with 3 male connectors in my box of parts but don't know if or where it goes. Any ideas . Thanks Tom

they used a double tab connector wire on the ivr

only the oil pressure is hooked to this not the ammeter

Brian, I know the amp gauge doesn't get a wire from the constant voltage regulator. what kind of wire should I be looking for ? one male connector and two female for the power in and one with 1 female and 2 male for the power out ? Is that what you mean by (double tab connector wire ). Thanks Tom

The ammeter gets two large wires that all the current except the starter run through. This is done from the starter solinoid, there were some involved discussions in another thread about this not too long ago. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=34693

Bruce the amp meter wasn't the problem it was constant voltage to the oil pressure gauge and with Brian's help I figured it out. Thanks Tom
