What do you guys make/cut your new headliner out of?

Did you glue it, screw it or how did you attach the new headliner?

Does anyone have pictures of their new headliner?

I'm getting ready to tackle this in the next week or so. I think I'm gonna make mine out of closed cell foam that wont hold moisture and glue it right to the top of the roof after I've covered it with the headliner fabric. I'm going to extend the top section all the way back to the rear of the cab and make the piece that fits above the rear window sit vertical instead of at an angle and it will probably be made out of fiber board and covered to match. If possible, I might make the two curved side panels part of this piece to keep seams to a minimum.

I was going to post a new thread about my headliner. I just have to say that I'm very frustrated with the cardboard kit I got. I thought I was being very careful putting it in, soaking with water as I went, but I'll be damned if that long skinny piece didn't crack in half around the hole for the light :cussing: I"m sure others have done it right but I f-ed it up. :burp:

I helped Richard Beck install one of his,we laid it over the top of the cab then missed it with with water until it shaped itself

I've done 2 65's and 2 52 Ford headliners all bought thru DC over the years, and never heard of wetting them until I saw it on this site a while back. Mine did not seem to come with instructions, did them by myself no issues. :peepwall:

Why couldn't you you this method with a sheet of 1/8" ABS plastic using a heat gun to shape the plastic. I haven't tried this but but it seems like it should work close enough to get it mounted and then use the heat gun for final shaping inside the truck.

Plastic with the heat gun is what I was going to try on the Turk project.
I traced Richard Becks' new headliner, on the box it was shipped in... the box however got "recycled" on trash day, so I am back to square one on finding a pattern.
