Dash lights / Bulb covers

Post by "Whitey Ford" »

So Im redoing my dash and all but the indicator light cover? or whatever is in front of the buld in the little circles are gone. I had plastic bag taped over it and it worked well but what is everyone else using? Its for the indicators and 'lights on' indicator. the 3 holes in the speedometer gauge. Hope that makes sense.

I used bulbs like the "turn signal indicator fix" link in my signature.

I have not melted one yet. I have not tried it on the high beam indicator. Just the turn signals. I should do an overnight test on one to see if it melts.

I've always thought the plastic colored tabs from a three ring binder organizer kit could be cut to provide new lenses. I haven't tried this, but it seems like an easy cheap source.

Hobby Lobby or Michael's has translucent colored plastic sheets. Can stack them to make them darker, and wetsand the top layer with 2500 grit sandpaper to mimick the factory sheen.
