Hi Lou,
I'm glad you're happy with your new engine! Sounds like your local shop did you a good job!

Just in an effort to get a better mental picture of your weekend fun Slick, please share with us:

a) What all did they do with the heads: hardened valve seats, any new valves?
b) What transmission will you have behind that new mill?
c) What rear end gear ratio will you be running?
d) What size rear tires will you use?
I hope you keep us all posted on your progress! :thumright:

P.S.
I'd suggest you keep all the records of what was done and with what parts so when you or your repair guy needs to do 'something' with it in, say, 8 years, you'll have the data in hand to know what you had done and with what back in 2016...

Yes, BarnieTrk I'm real happy with what they did.

a) What all did they do with the heads: hardened valve seats, any new valves?
Yes, new valves and hardened seat, so I can run unleaded premium

b) What transmission will you have behind that new mill?
I have a rebuilt toploader 4 speed out of a galaxy with a hurst comp+ shifter

c) What rear end gear ratio will you be running?
3:50:1 open diff. Rear end rebuild is in the plans

d) What size rear tires will you use?
Fronts I Believe are 215-70-15
Rears 245-60-15
Both on Steele Vintiques with 47 Ford dog dishes

Just finished installing Lokar throttle bracket and cable as factory setup was binding with the new carb
Sitting in the bed are 4 pieces of stainless 2.5"x4', and 2 stainless MagnaFlow oval mufflers, and 6 stainless band clamps. As soon as I get some time I'll take it to have the front pipe bent and let them install the exhaust, which I'm sure the neighbors will appreciate.

All is GOOD, Lou!
Do you plan to run the exhaust out to the rear bumper to the side & behind/in front of the rear tires or just dump the exhaust under the truck box?
It would likely be quieter for you and your neighbors if you run the exhaust out from under the truck......
