Dog Dish hubcaps

Post by DukeRoche »

This is kind of an off the wall question, but did the Slicks 61-66 all take the same style of bottleneck hubcaps? Or were their different versions? Just out of curiosity.

61/65 Where 1 cap either painted or s/s, then 66/67 was another painted or s/s in 15" and that's why we innie's and outies on the wheels

Interested in this also. I just picked up a set of outies for my unibody. What cap options are there for both besides the factory offerings?

I know the front ones usually have the bottle cap style hubcaps. Not sure if the front and back used the same size cap. I just didn't know if the bottle caps were the only ones used or not.

Duke the bottle caps are innies. I have taken rusty and dented ones and restored them and made clocks out of them. Check ''Shipwrecked'' post on ''Off Subject''.
There are some nice looking outies as well. They usually show up at swap meets
and such. Some salvage yards have them as well if it is an old place. Does your truck have the innie or outie style wheels? TR

I don't actually have one yet. I was just curious. My old 64 had innies on the front and outies in the back. I didn't know if the caps looked the same and just fit on the wheel differently or if there were different styles all together.
