recommend wire harness

Post by shipwrecked »

I am still a way away from assembling the truck, but I have been surfing around the web looking at new wiring harnesses. I am looking at budgeting my money for the big needed purchases and this is one of them.
Standard stock truck- no AC nothing special.
At some point in the next few months, the command will tell me if I am staying or going next summer. I would like to have a running truck (even if i only have it primed not painted).

Rebel wire kits with how many circuits?
EZWiring kit?
American Autowire?

American Autowire is like $700. the others are about $200.
The months may change, but I am always APRIL

EZ-Wire is what we have been selling,, It's labeled every 3" and color coded with instructions whether for a Ford, Chevy or Mo-par on charging systems with push in fuses and 4-way flashers built into the board,, the 12 circuit is plenty,, You would have use your own plugs,, on Rebel do not know anything,, on the American Wire is pricey and do not know if it has the plugs for stock switches,, One other thing since your truck is the 61-64 series I would put the 65 and up headlight switch to get away from the one in your truck since it has that stupid fuse thing attached to the headlight switch,, also I would get a wiper motor out of a 67 and up truck with switch since it would be a 2 speed wiper motor, and that switch would have it set up for windshield washers,, especially since its hard to find some of those switches for the 61-66 truck's

Excellent information Tom. I didn't realize you sold EZ-wire.
Heck- if you have that 65 switch, and a 67_up motor, I will be in touch to make an order.
