i think it was $1100 or thereabouts. i took some pics of the warranty plate but they didn't come out too well. it was an E81 however. whatever that means.

I understand the buckets were a sport option in '64. The ranger did not come out until '65. $1100 does not sound too bad if it could be proven to be the first production pickup with bucket seats. You could recover a good portion of that just for the seats and the console. The seat pattern looks more like the Galaxie pattern which would make sense since the mustangs didn't come out until late 64.

Too late for even the first production slick with buckets, let alone first production pickup with such! Witness the well-documented option as found on the F100 XL. Early seats were Bostrom and/or Falcon. E81 refers to the red vinyl.
Assuming it proved as solid as it appears, I would have been a buyer at that price! I would have an accurate runner/ driver in short order with (hopefully) minimal additional expenditure.

the truck was rough. the bucket seat brackets from a glance looked the same as 65-66 vintage. the only thing that interested me was the console. those are expensive but i already have a few. i couldn't believe the truck brought that much. it was not advertised well but a neighbor knew of the truck's existence and had been trying to buy it for years. who knows what it would have taken to drive off the other bidders. i was thinking i was going to steal it for $500. there was also an early harley frame and wheels and some other parts in a grain bin. i looked at the stuff but my lack of knowledge kept me from hanging around to the very end. the auctioneer was milking the crowd for all the time he could and i wasted enough time. the seats were not early mustang but i didn't know what they were.
