Repop Complete Floorpans for early slicks

Post by jamesdfo »

Just saw this mentioned on another channel, but once you see the vendor, may lose some enthusiasm....

Looks like it's for leaf spring cabs only....

I saw it in my email this morning and was wondering how it was supposed to fit all the trucks they claim that it will...

From the image I looked at, it would have been a good fit for my uni... to bad for them I'm done with floors.
Only listed for 65 and 66 4X4 and 61-63 uni's. I thought uni's and 4X4's used the same cab mount, do they?

And yes their quality usually sucks..

I guess I must have had rare experiences with LMC compared to everyone else. I've always had decent service and decent quality. I've bought tons of 67-72 chevy parts and several parts for my uni from them. While yes, sometimes it would be typical parts counter guy attitude from the employees, I still thought the quality of the parts was good for nice driver quality trucks. That all being said, $1400 is pretty steep if there's going to have to be much modification to make it work.

with all the JUNK in Steel being done in tawain I doubt it will fit right and how long it will last ,, I get a kick out of these people saying on how it's E-Coated,, only reason done is cause if it was not coated they would rust before hitting the US just from the Ocean ride,, I sent a cab corner out and then the customer wanted the other side BUT Could not wait so he ordered a black tawain one , he then called and said his body shop CANNOT Weld paper,, as far as LMC Listing most is listed wrong or you better read the fine print cause so many hidden issues you need to ask,, I know after spending 1299 + freight and get it and be not right I would be ill  VERY ILL especially having to pay freight both ways

even with good tin that entire piece is a lot of work to deal with
i recently did a lot of floor replacing
the 1\8" plate was cheap in the scrapyard
couple small rolls of wire for the welder
way less than $200 total
now the cab mounts and floor are 2x thicker than original

lots of learning how all the cab and uni tin is configured and what differences exist

using replacement pieces from other factory cabs because theres no guessing of will it fit and is original thickness.
slick floors and most body tin are .060"
as an example, S10 tin is only .046"
i have one good aftermarket cab corner,i checked it is also .060

Seeing as everyone is talking about floor pans. Does anyone have a cab with solid floors & a bent up roof. My 66 Merc could use a set of floor pans. The closer to MT the better. A good rust free cab would make it easier.

It would be nice to know who is actually making this and where. Considering some of the smaller pieces that are available for this floor design don't fit well I'm not real confident this will either - depending on the source of course.

Also, '.....produced from new tooling......' doesn't sound promising regarding fit etc.

HERE IS Where parts are made

Parts that are Black saying EDP Coating MADE IN TAWAIN, has to get here some how without rusting,, Many, Many years ago had a customer tell me that import steel can vary up to .035 thickness on a sheet of metal so just how that goes when making a part on how thin it will get when stretched out

Parts in bare steel MADE IN USA

Parts with a Phosphus something like that Coating Made in USA Also
