Subtle drop... Kinda..

Post by RRTEC »

Well, the truck is slowly moving along. This weekend was a little frustrating though. I installed the lowering shackles in the rear which were advertised as a 2" drop. This did not happen. It dropped the rear 1/2 inch!

I trimmed the front springs.

Yeah, that "advertised" drop is a bunch of crap. Truck looks good though.... like the stance. Is your front bumper chrome are painted? OR????

Like the stance, will look really great when painted.

If restoring a ford was easy, chevy guys could do it.

The bumper was pretty rusty and pitted so I scuffed and dusted them with some paint. I'm pretty happy with it due to the patina look of the truck right now.

I painted it the turquoise, but the body needs so be blasted to metal and lots more work prior to ever laying a "good paintjob" on. It's going to be ratty for a while.

Your springs had already settled. The advertised drop is with all new parts.

I was thinking of changing to lowering springs, not shackles. I stand corrected. Sorry about that.
