$200 mercury grand marquis score!

Post by cwindsor »

Well working on a computer for car lot and seen a 2003 Grand Marguis sitting in the back of the lot. Asked the lady whats the deal with the car and she told me it was a repo and didn't run. She asked the Manger and he said he would take $200 for it since he was going to scrap it anyway!

Got the car home and noticed the EGR Valve, alternator was missing and the water pump was fubar.... Just out of a thought I put a cover over the EGR valve and the car starts up and runs without any ticks pops or bangs!

The motor has 120K on it, I was planning on using the cross member in the 64 F100 but now I am thinking about dropping in the whole motor and cross member!

Great deal. 120K on a mod motor is nothing. I read an article where a guy torn down his motor with 250K on it and it was all still within factory spec. He just cleaned it up and put it back together. I think it was in car craft. You'll also be able to get some of your heavy investment back when you sell what not used for scrap.

Ultimate score! Running/driving car for $200 = steal. You would pay more than that for the front k member assembly.

That is amazing....what a find.

And as far as high mileage motors go, My motor in my truck was laying in a barn for years 300 inline six... I bought it for 50 bucks..its still going.. Later I found out this motor was not exactly a virgin, the guy I bought it from said it came out of a UPS truck ! hahahahahah

I got my 2003 vic for $600 and thought it was a steal!!! Tried to sell the body parts etc on craigslist couldn't give them away!!! The body went to the crusher and I got a whopping $75. Good luck. Take everything that you think you might need and what you might not need :D . You can always toss the stuff you don't use or try and peddle it!!!

Sweet! The crossmembers are plentiful here but still $200 on 40% off day at the junkyard! Would make a nice swap!

My Uni has a Crown Vic donor under it ,that I bought and was driveable for ...$50 ;)

However that was an old school 86 model I bought YEARS ago.... Still is a great combination though.
