After a lot of thought, I would tear it down. That just might save the engine. Who knows what you will find. It may be a good thing it has not cranked. I would be concerned about piston to valve contact (some radical pistons were available for FEs) or the possibility of foreign objects in the cylinders like nuts and bolts. (sabotage/vandalism)
I can drive it home with one headlight.

Many times I have wished the laying on of hands would fix things . However, one other thought comes to mind at this point, and that is a possible cam change where to much cam and not checked for clearance. Possibly mismatched engine components as stated solid lifter to hydraulic spec settings. At this point I would snatch engine and do a brake down. With that many bent pushrods something is seriously out of whack.
