Dana 60 gears

Post by Blackwaterforge »

What gears are available for Dana 60?
Currently have 4:10.
Is there a 3:32 or is 3:55 the highest?
Thank you!
If it cain't be fixed with a sledge hammer it must be an electrical problem!

I've got a Dana 61 with 3.08 gears, it seems like they may have made 3.33 or 3.25 gear sets for the D61's. Mine came from a 78 F250 - they were called "Mileage Maker" gears.

I haven't decided yet if I want to swap my 4.10 D60 for the 3.08 D61. I don't plan to haul much with my F250, but I have some some concern whether my rebuilt 390 with RV cam would be happy starting out in 2nd gear with 10.29:1 final drive ratio. Sorry for hijacking the thread, I know the original question was about D60 gear ratios.

NP435 Wide Ratio/4:10 Gears (final drive ratio)
1 27.43
2 13.69
3 7.34
4 4.10

NP435 Wide Ratio/3:08 Gears (final drive ratio)
1 20.61
2 10.29
3 5.51
4 3.08

Close Ratio NP435 would be IDEAL!
