speciality emblems

Post by ras4434 »

Does anyone know of someone who can make specialty emblem inserts for a 65? Instead of saying Twin I Beam I am looking for "390" in silver and the background in red. I am sure someone out there has a set up to be artistic.......

I bought mine from a guy off Facebook named Brian May. He is in Oregon as well. Think he got out of doing them and moved/sold everything.

I did hear from Brian and he has had to stop making the emblems.....He did good work. Hope there is someone else making these......Worse case I have to round up someone local to make something. I can make a straight line if I have a nice ruler and take my time.....that's the extent of my artistic talent.

By the way nice work on your truck...Working on the truck is the best and cheapest college education I ever got.

I have a friend that runs a sign shop. He used chrome vinyl and made a set of Ranger decals for my truck. I took those and stuck them on Lexan that I cut out with a scroll saw. Then painted the backside black. The original ones on my truck were black and I didn't want red inserts, so a few bucks for setup at the sign shop, a piece of Lexan, and you can have whatever you want on your inserts.

I did the same thing, had a local sign shop make my inserts. They look just like stock.

Local sign shop took the old badge insert and will reproduce on a backing for 20 each. Rendering looked good. I will post a picture later in the week when I pick them up.

We will see when i get them the quality. If it is good I will pass on the info so others can check them out. After talking to me they sent a rendering that looks real good.
