1965 4x4 transfer case shift knob

Post by 9Fingers »

Hello,

Does anyone have a photo of the correct shifter knob for the 65 4x4 transfer case?

I searched and could not find for sure what an original looks like. From what I have read, up to 66 had 2H, 4H, N, 4L, then in 66 the f100's had 2wd or 4wd no low range.

I have a later model np205 from a 78/79 but looking for more information about shifter knobs for 65, if shift pattern is the same, would like to use an original knob from 65.

Thanks in advance, Bradshaw

I can't seem to find a photo, but my avatar shows the two speed transfer case shift knob. The photo is from the 1966 Owner's Manual. The 1966 F100 4x4 was the only one that had the single speed.

Thanks Pat for the diagram. Shift pattern is the same as what I've got.

I'll be on the lookout for one.

If you don't locate one, I know Steve Canup made one out of wood. Turned out great.

orangeRcode and Chris401, thanks for the tips on wood turned knob or starting with the np435 to make a mod.

I have checked that popular online auction site and have seen a couple on there. May pick up one of those, one looks to need a good cleaning and some way of buffing down the finish, looks like its been in the weather a good while.
