A newbs thoughts on Slick Stock 08

Post by BMJ's 65 »

I wasn't there for long, but a buddy and I made it down Saturday morning to see what we could see. We parked the Intrepigarbage around the side of the lot so it couldn't be seen. I wanted to take the Bump, but I met strong resistance from the wife. I've been thinking all week about the trucks I saw and the people I met. First off, what a sweet deal. We walked onto the parking lot and we were met with all kinds Slicks. It wasn't some snobby show and it wasn't some exclusive gathering. It was a bunch of people with the trucks they love. Second thing,,,, The members of this group are great! My buddy CJ was stretching his neck into jkimbrell's Tri-Power Uni (hopefully I have the right name) and we heard him say, "Open the door and get a good look" I've never heard anyone say that at a run of the mill show and shine. And lastly,,,,,, I didnt have my Slick ready,,, That's OK,,, I didn't register and be a part of the whole weekend,,, That was bad! Whether I have the 65 ready or not, I won't miss Slick Stock 2010. We filled the rest of the day with Lightningfest and the cruise in at Platte City, but the first hour at that parking lot is what made the trip. I gotta get it in gear!!!
On a side note,,,,,, My buddy CJ thought it was cool seeing Greg's truck. He sees it around Bellvue quite a bit. Great trucks, great forum. Great group to be a part of.

Well we are glad you had a good time. SlickStock is more than about trucks, as someone said it is more like a family reunion but you don't have to bring tater salad. We will be looking forward to seeing you guys in Ankeny in 2010 whether you have a Slick with you or not. You will not find a better bunch of guys and gals anywhere.................KId

Well for the tenth anniversary of the club, the snobby Canucks are gonna break precedent, we will probably get a reprimand from Windsor Castle, and actually bring trucks into the colonies. King George will be rolling over in his grave as we cross the border, but I hear if we bring tea we will be OK.

CANUCKS WITH TRUCKS IN 10
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

jkimbrel is one of the nicest Slicksters you will meet with one of the nicest trucks I've seen. Not surprised at all by your anecdote.
