frame swap

Post by Nick 66 »

Hi I'm Nick, I am 16 years old, and I just got my farmers license, and my dad and I are very interested in '64 to '66 f-100's, and we have a couple of '66 f-100's hoping to make one out of them. This is my very first post. I am aware that a '66 cab will fit on a '73 to '79 frame, then I am wondering how hard it is to put a '64 cab on a '73 to '79 frame?

Hey Nick, welcome 1st. 61-64 are completely different than a 65-66. They look like pretty much the same from the outside, thats as far as it goes. Much easier and a direct swap would be 65-66. A 64' cab mounts are completely different and how the steering column fits are some differences. I guess you could make anything fit if you want, not real sure if its worth the effort. Use the search function there are alot of threads about frame swaps.
