New from Los Angeles

Post by degaine_designs »

Hey everyone. I'm new to the site. I signed up a while ago but haven't really been on here. I'm on the Facebook page now and then. I'm a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. You can see some of my artwork on the set of The Big Bang Theory and I've drawn various comic books.

I bought my '65 longbed a little over 2 years ago. Six months later the wiring fried and I haven't been able to afford to fix it. It also needs:

- Brake booster
- Transmission work
- Alternator and bracket
- Tires
- Fix turn signal switch
- Gauges and new bezel made to hold them
- Full exhaust

*Sigh*

My goal right now is to get it on the road by my birthday in July (also the month I bought it in).

I'd like to upgrade to disc brakes, paint it properly (still flat black) and add power steering and a/c, lift it a little and other little things. It has a little ol' 289 in it that runs real well.

Eventually I want to build it into a BOV/ Survival truck and maybe swap it over to 4WD if possible.

It does not matter what you think, it only matters what you do about it!

Welcome from New Mexico. Good to have artist types here. I am not an illustrator, but I make oddball clocks, lamps, incense burners, and other things.
For every person with a spark of genius, there are a hundred with ignition trouble

My '63 short wrongbed

"The Iron Rhino"
300 I6, 3 spd manual, DS II/ HEI ignition.

Stuff I added to Hints and tricks

-300-6 choke tube repair
-duraspark II/ HEI
-Horn ring contact tube repair
-turn signal indicator fix

Mikhail Kalashnikov and Nikola Tesla are the guys i think of when i build things.
