Lightning Powered '65 LWB in Edmonton??

Post by jamesdfo »

Went to a cruise night @ the White Oaks A & W in North part o Edmonton, there was a '65 there, original paint with patina AND orig company signage on the doors, the emblems had been modified to include LIGHTNING, and the instrument cluster appeared to be late model? I'm guessing there may be a supercharged Lightning 5.4L resting in the crown vic front crossmember......but sadly, despite hanging around the truck for ages, and coming back to it a number of times, never did get to speak to the owner, or see under the hood:(

Any chance this truck belongs to a member??

Too bad I don't have photobucket, cuzz I did get several shots of it......

I wanted to have a closer look as well. It was definitely crown Vic ifs and flipped rear axle.

Well, was back @ White Oaks A&W tonight, this truck was back........and the owner was still absent??

I hung around until 9:30, parking lot was better than half cleared out, still no sighn of the owner, and there were often people hanging around the truck, I'm sure they had questions, juts like I do!! :)
I want to see under that hood to confirm my suspicions!! :)

I was able to have a look under the hood at the Radium show last weekend. It sure appeared to be a Lighting engine in there. I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner.

Alberta62: Consider yourself lucky, because the several times I have seen the truck, the hood has always been CLOSED........and the owner was nowhere to be found.

It looked like a nice install. Also looked like it may get a fair amount of use.

I had a chance to check it out in Radium too, had a chance to talk to the owner. It is a second gen Lightning with a crown vic front end. I believe the owner is from Edson or somewhere close to there.
