For every person with a spark of genius, there are a hundred with ignition trouble

My '63 short wrongbed

"The Iron Rhino"
300 I6, 3 spd manual, DS II/ HEI ignition.

Stuff I added to Hints and tricks

-300-6 choke tube repair
-duraspark II/ HEI
-Horn ring contact tube repair
-turn signal indicator fix

Mikhail Kalashnikov and Nikola Tesla are the guys i think of when i build things.

I had a get together at my house a few years back for the TN/KY group. We had it in a off year of the national get together. It wasn't bad at all but one of the other members offered to have it at his place the next time It kind of fell through because everyone was so busy. It might be best to have the meeting at a event or a place the whole family can enjoy. It be a lot easier to convince the family its a good idea if they can have fun also.

Georgia is the most central geographically at least, or so it seems to me. But I have no clue about venues in Georgia. I'm sure there are some great ones, just don't know where.

I agree with FBp, Georgia is most convenient for largest number of people.

Dennis Carpenter in Concord, NC (north of Charlotte) lets different ford clubs have get togethers at their place. A few months ago an early bronco club had a get together there and took a tour of the facilities.

Chattanooga is VERY family friendly...lots of places to have a mini-SS. Riverpark comes to mind immediately, as several car shows happen there.

+1 for dot centrals idea. Dennis Carpenters wharehouse is a great idea.

I am actually going to be ordering some large parts from Carpenters within the next few weeks. To save on shipping I will be driving down in the SLICK to pick them up.

Also on the web site it says to call in advance and they will set up a tour to show how they make some of their parts!

WAY COOL...Check it out

Gotta put the plug in for Charlotte. As already mentioned, the Dennis Carpenter shop plus NPD. For the NASCAR fans, you've got the Hall of Fame and almost all of the teams shops.

Being from Atlanta, I'd say GA. But I will give my official vote for Charlotte. Maybe we meet up at Dennis Carpenter and/or Carolina Classics.

While I guess I'm "technically" not in the S.E. group, I'm still a Georgia boy at heart. I'll be at Crusin' and would be able to attend a get together if it were there.
I might even be able to provide a "meetup" place if anyone is interested.

I'm voting on Chattanooga; as Roger (Macgiobuin) mention; cool town central located; has several options for entertainment. But fuel and time is gonna be a factor wherever you meet.
