Norcross Car Show, May 21st

Post by charliemccraney »

I know there are quite a few of us in the Atlanta Area. This is held in Downtown Historic Norcross and there is usually around 250 vehicles. I'm there rain, shine, or even minor mechanical malfunctions.

I might try and head that way for this one....depends on the work schedule, though.

I just put it on the calendar. My interior should be done by then.

Throw in a lawn chair and come without an interior. I can almost guarantee that if you park next to me, yours will look better.

3 weeks away. Will any of you definitely be there?
Ironically, I may not. I'm house shopping so I may be tied up, but if I am free that day, I will be there. I'm sure I'll be able to stop by and say hey, at least.

I'll have to work my ass off to get Stella ready in time. I remove everything out of the cab last weekend and planned to have stuff going back in this week. I hurt my back on Tuesday and was down all week. I'm going to be working on each night this week though and all weekend.

I need to call the upholstery shop. They've had my seat a week and I haven't gotten the estimate yet. She said it would be in the $500 neighborhood with them painting the frame, new foam, etc. I just hope it's a small neighborhood.

There was an old car show off Peachtree Corner Circle over the weekend. Saw it Saturday morning when I drove to The Forum.

Yeah, they had a car show at the Peachtree Corners Baptist Church.

Are any of ya'll on Facebook? I start events and me and another guy have a group for locals to keep up to date on events.

I've got the Norcross show on my calendar, but my health and my mood has been real unstable lately. I don't buy green bananas and I don't make "for sure" plans.... So you won't know if I'm going til you see me, haha.

I am going to Alabama tomorrow. Gadsden for First Friday. HUGE event and cruise in they do the first Friday of the month year round. Live bands, food vendors, blocks long, blocks wide...hundreds of cars... I CAN'T WAIT! I need a break and a good drive in Little Black.

I hope to be at Caffeine and Octane first Sunday in June. Tried to make May, but wound up too exhausted to get the truck out and drive that far on a Sunday morning. :(

I'm going to do my best to get the truck done by then and have a schedule in place. We'll see if I can do it. If I can't, I can't - not going to rush anything.

I should have never told the upholsterer there was no hurry on the seat. By no hurry I meant I didn't need it next week. When I called yesterday she acted like I was in a hurry wanting it on the 19th which means they would have had it a month. WTF?

Well, it's this Saturday and it is looking like I will be there. Anyone who is going, try to get there no later than 8:30 if you want to find a place near some shade, on the main stretch. I'm planning to be there between 8:00 and 8:30.

I won't have my Slick back together by then. I should be at Caffeine and Octane in June though.

The seat is still at the upholsterer. The inside of the truck is completely stripped and being painted this week. The heater, pedals, brackets, and other black metal is being painted. I'm taking the opportunity to install the power steering too. Just too much going over the past couple months to get it finished.

Wow, I no sooner posted this and the lady called from the upholstery shop. They're getting ready to start on my seat today. It will be done by the end of the week or beginning of next week. I told her I needed before the 27th, not the 20th, doh!

It will still be difficult to get things wrapped up by then.

Alright, then you really can't make it. I was hoping that all you need to drive it is a seat because I can help with that.

Well, it seems I was there all alone. At least there was a good showing of Y-blocks this year.
