Cooling system? Check!! Overlook the messy plug wires, I'll organize them With holders after I get it running and tuned.

Very nice!! I did a frame off on a 66 long bed. Sets in the garage with a tarp on it and gets taken to a car show every so often. Waste of a good truck. Sooo I acquired a 66 short bed and want to make it a driver.

Your tires are awesome!! Will you need to make any mods to the bed or tubs for those slicks?
With the 302 and c 6 what year perch mounts did you use and did you use the front or back holes in frame to mount the perches?.

Awesome build!!

The cheater slicks are 28" tall and 9" wide on an 8" wide rear wheel, they'll fit the stock tubs/wells just fine, even with the lowered stance. Any truck 302 frame mount up to 79 will work and these were already mounted to the frame when I aquired the truck as a project so I'm not sure where they are positioned on the frame, I could look for you. Thanks for the compliment!!

Ps I just happen to have an extra set of 302 truck frame mounts and would sale the Reasonably and be willing to ship.

td - What color did you use for the grille/bumper? Is it the original factory grille/bumper color?

I want to do mine in the original shade of white but am not sure what that is......

I just got all the headlights and bumper bolted in place. As for the white it was just 1 of 3 choices I had at my local powder coat shop and it was the middle shade. One was real bright white then the one I went with and the third was real creamy almost like vanilla ice creme color.

TD your truck is looking awesome! Love the blue/white combo you went with.
Was noticing a little mod that was done on the front hanger of the rear spring.
Looks like someone drilled a new front spring mount hole up higher than stock
or the front spring mount has been modified some. What ever the case it looked
like a good idea to me. If it is an aftermarket piece where did it come from, and
if you did it would you mind taking some closer pics of it for the rest of us?
Thanks and keep going on putting up the great pics. We love 'em. TR

Thanks for the compliments. The rear has this shackle hanger kit.

Well she is running and driving, I've made a couple lengthy shake down runs and all good short of the master leaking out from under the cap and a leaking water pump. Both are simple enough fixes but for now I'm gonna focus on the paint repair work on the bed and hood, more pics to come.....
