kstones63 project

Post by kstones63 »

Here are some current pics of my truck in progress. It is finally out of paint and the cab is back on the frame.

Here it is going back on the frame. It was very simple with the chain mounted to the floor and 4 people helping steady it so we didn't scratch anything.

I will post more pics of the progress as I get them loaded onto the computer.

I like that color, even though black is still my favorite.
That will be a very nice ride when it is finished. I can not wait to see it complete!

Greg,
I ride a 2000 Heritage Softtail Classic and Beth rides a 2000 FatBoy. Her bike had to be lowered for her to reach and some pull back handlebars. She has the nicer bike, Pearl White with lots and lots of chrome. Mine is nice but doesn't have as much chrome on it.

I got the air conditioner and windshield wiper motor mounted a week or so ago. Some insulation had to be installed first.

I have been working on wiring this past week. Work has been short so I spend my time on the truck. I will post pics when I get some.

I like your foam pad idea, protect from scratches and has to add to the comfort when you up under that dash.

I live in the northwest part of Phoenix(43rd ave. & Bell).
My neighbor and I did the body work. Ron is a retired bodyman. I would have been in way deep over my head if it wasn't for his help and guidance. The painter was Don that owns West Glenn Body Shop. Ron and Don were in this business together for a while.
I am making progress on the wiring.

And women say that we don't follow directions. Mine are scatteredall over the floor
I have cleaned this up quite a bit since this was taken. I will get more recent pics real soon.

Truck looks great. Love the color. I think the rad support looks really good too. To be honest, I almost miss the assembly stage. Keep it up 8)

What bed are you putting on it? The "wrong" bed, 64-66 short or flareside?
Mark, if would like to experience disassembly & reassembly again you can come down and help with mine.

Is that a VintageAir unit? If so, what model did you go with?

Max, That is a Vintage Air unit. It is the Mini compact space saver unit. I have the same unit in my Model "A" Sedan Delivery and it will freeze you out of it in 100+ degree weather so I figured it should work great in the truck.
Greg, I have a very clean 64 short Wide bed that I bought to put on it.

I am getting the wiring done and cleaned up. I now have the Dakota Digital gauges wired and ready to plug in. The D.D. Climate Control is installed and ready to plug in. The D.D. gear selector is in there finished.
Image
The fuse panel is getting done.
Image
Now I have to do the power windows, power door locks, D.D. cruise control and the alarm to operate the door locks. Its just a hundred more wires to put in.
