wyatts 65 4x4

Post by quietwyatt »

Here are pics of my 65 4x4 I bouight for my daily driver. It needs some serious attention. I'm not doing a frame off resto but will do what I have to to make her (BIG BETTY) safe and solid.

This is the day we drove her home and did a few small quick fixes.

The next 2 pics show the horn ring and dash cluster we put in her. A big improvement.

Then we replace the rusted head light ring with one we had here. It pays to keep spare parts.

What did the 4 spoke wheels come in?

I'm thinking this wheel is original. The truck seems to be unmolested other than having the plow set-up on it and spoked wheels. The horn ring we put on it came off a tow truck we ran across a few years back.

Took out the old ratty box liner and replaced it with one I saved from another truck we once had.

Unifan..again someone will correct me if I'm wrong...4 spoke wheels came in f250 4x4s and f350s. Not sure about f100 4x4s or larger trucks.

Removed the plow set-up today. That thing was heavy.

Here she is with her new bumper.

Hey Barnie, Here's that light I told you I had. Just set it on to see what it looked like. Looked at home.

Will replace the rear bumper tomorrow.

Thanks Alan. We also cleaned the grille up after the photos and painted around the head light rings. The black was worn off. I'll get those pics up tomorrow along with the rear bumper replacement.

 You know Wyatt, reading your last post about the black being worn off the grille, reminded me I never did the black hi lite thing on my grille. Which I fully intended to do!, just slipped my mind for 3 years! so there`s another thing to do on Lenore when I get time, they are never really finished are they!

No they are not. Kinda like watching a spider spin a web. Never done.
How does the saying go? Oh what a tangled web we weave, or something like that.
Now go get that grille done Alan.

The wheels off the 89 won't fit. Different lugbolt size. Trust me, If they would fit they would already be on.
Yes we were busy yesterday and today.

The corner of the bed was pulled away from the post. So I made a hole so I could get inside to weld it back in place. Plus the post was broken lose. All welded back together now. I will make a panel to put back on in it's place. I will be doing the same thing to the other side. Bettys butt was in pretty rough shape.

Replaced the twisted back bumper and welded the tailgate that needed repaired and put it on. Thanks for the tailgate Jason. Was a pretty progressive day.
