Post by 62unif100 »

Hello fellas, I recently installed ifs from cv on my dads 62 uni,now my question is which rearend can i bolt on to get the 5x4.5 lug pattern? I will be using 05+ mustang rims as they are easy to come by.Thanks

if your are keeping rear drum brakes you can have a shop take studs out ,weld it up and redrill to your specs. If it has a ford 9" you can redrill or you can buy new axles with correct bolt pattern... just a fyi if your going to redrill go ahead and buy new drums no reason to pay to redrill old used drums that will be shot in no time :2cents:

I think the 9" is a little narrower than the CV front end , you can use spacers in the back or order correct offset for wheels to even the track width. I don't know of another rear end that will swap into truck that's correct pattern and track width, sorry.

Things I have learned on my swap in progress...

03+ Crown Vic is way to wide....
I put my 9 inch back in and used 2 inch adapters that gave me a width of 65" Hub face to Hub face.

I also found out an axle flip lowering drops the back like 6 inches
