SlickStock Swapmeet?

Post by RickySlickUHS »

Will there be anybody there selling/buying parts? I've got quite a stock I could bring if anybody would be interested. And ya know... no shipping,

I'd also like to take a look at what anybody else has got.

Didn't see any posts about this so I thought I'd ask.

Thanks!

Alright, I didn't know if that was taboo or not. I've got a trailer full I'll bring.

If anyone has anything special they'd like me to bring, shoot me a PM and I'll be sure to throw it in.

Not a problem. For a 66 I assume?

I've also got tons of engines and transmissions. Everything from old flat-head v8's to 352's. You name it and I probably have it laying around somewhere. People don't like to pay shipping on big stuff like that so here's a chance to pick it up cheap.

Pretty sure both sides are the same on the 65/66's (but not the 63/64's). I need one also :-)

I've got at least 25 pieces of these trim parts. I should have what you need.

As far as Y-blocks I have a 312, which is a good core. Not locked, but I doubt it would fire right up.

I've got a 272 (which I will need to check the s/n to verify) that is also just a core motor.

I've also got a 292 that came out of a 55' 1-ton. I bought the motor on the pretense that it ran, but I have not verified this. It does look it though.

Are 312's that much better than a 292.

At least 20" better. :-)

There were fewer 312's made which means they are harder to find (good or bad) therefore somewhat more desirable (to some).

actually theres a greater chance of getting a bad 312 than a 292. 312 had larger main journals and if the main caps were over tourqed the bolt holes in the block would crack. A .060 over 292 is a 301 so its only 11 inches better for me.

From what I understand (and I may be wrong here) but all of the y-block motors are the same bore, they just have different rods, or maybe pistons, and heads to create the different cubic inches? Anybody able to chime in on this?
