All Ford day Sydney dragway 28th july

Post by 1964 700 »

Hi, any of you Aussie members in Sydney, the All Ford Day & Ford swap meet are on this weekend at Sydney dragway. I`m taking my 64 Merc truck along, there will be a section for all model Ford trucks this year.

Hi Alan, good to meet up with you yesterday, was a top day, I think it was probably the biggest Ford day, somehow I managed to pick up the best commercial vehicle trophy. John

Hi John, It was good to meet and chat with you yesterday, the truck is a real credit to you mate. I hadn`t seen your post after mine, and where you were, was as usual the last place we looked. Maybe you could use all your left overs to build a F100 Slick :P
I haven`t had time to see if I have a set of core support rubbers yet, but I will..

Hi Alan, I have thought about another build with the left overs, thats why I still have kept a spare cab, all I am missing is a bonnet, chassie & pick-up bed, but I have a couple of other projects first. Good to catch up & put a face to the name.
On the 18th august at eastern creek circuit is another big display day for every make should be about 1800 cars, worth checking out, I am taking the truck. John

What ! Leeroy ...missed the flight up in the jump seat or you don't love us anymore....we would have organised to picked you up at Mascot, BUT, I don't know how one tells the good lady and the little fella, dads gone to a car show, interstate for the day.....

Or if you did get up here...suppose there would be no excuse if some didn't travel to mexico for a reciprocal visit ---Geelong---

The merc had those magnifique pentroof valve covers and this bloody big thingo on the top of the block....painted gold, just like its value !!!!
Parked most appropriately next to the boys in blue display....with their fast pursuit toys with more lights and aerials than a fishin' trawler...
You know , there was only one thing , yep , only one ,I could find wrong with the big 700 Merc truck......

It's NOT in my garage.....it was bloody good.....no ..it is top shelf ...what a cracker !!!!! even better than the "moded" crew cab that was the first vehicle you see when entering.

John, give em a pic of under the 64' 700's bonnet ---oopps " hood " of hood hinges and the gold lookin' thingo....lurkin' under there......
Well done.

Thanks for your comments, glad you like it, you must have a big shed cause it won`t fit in mine, won`t even fit down my driveway, I keep it at my dads place & am going to build a carport to cover it. too bad I didn`t get to meet you maybe next show. I mentioned before 18th august at the eastern creek circuit about 1800 vehicles all makes, this one we get a lap of the circuit, should be fun in the truck (I think). heres a couple of pics of whats under the bonnet (this is the Aussie section, no hoods here).
