Window shopping

Post by 64 f100 »

Some of you may know that I am an addaholic. I spend a lot of hours on the computer searching for all sorts of things. I search Evilbay everyday, and Craigslist everyday. Not just locally but all over the country. I often run across good buys but don't often act on these. Just recently there was a long bed partly striped out in the Reno area I believe For 700$. A very fine parts truck nearly rust free for 700$. Well worth the price but costly for me to get home. Total cost would have come in at around 2,000, but worth it for the quality of the parts. The add lasted two days if I remember right. There have been other trucks complete with good prices and went quick. I know of 3 or 4 right now, that will not last a week. Any really good buys have to be jumped on immediately or you miss out. Often by the time I'm ready to leap, there is nothing to leap on. Two days ago there was guy going thru a divorce and sold a 65 Ranchero restored for 6500. Lasted one day. For some time there was a 65 4X4 in Wyoming at 2500 but it to went away but may only have dropped off the list and not sold. Good looking truck for 2500. Most likely I should have bought it, but I really don't enjoy driving those old 4X4 trucks and I already have the 66. All I'm saying is I watch the buying and selling closely , and on occasion I buy. Not very often but I do buy. Most of the stuff far away, I just try and ignore when I find it. Kinda like when I was a kid and had no money, I would walk main street and window shop. Now there is no main street for me to stop and look in the windows. I enjoyed that then and still would, if there were any windows to look at.

I employ the same tactics; err; enjoy the same addiction. I seem to encounter enough locally to fetch my limited budget, and have slacked off considerably now with the realization I am getting older and slower, and may never complete my current projects.

If you find 65 f100 4x4 in somewhat original condition
Give me a notice, if you don't mind
That's the one truck I'm really looking for
Would really like to find it with a 4spd and a straight 6
But now I'm getting really picky ! 8)

That was a slick one in Wyoming for the money, but it was a V8. It just went off craigslist about 2 days ago.

Ran across a 65 4x4 in Alabama today, might be a little pricey as it wasn't priced.
