We used to use R11 to flush/blow thru R12 systems after a compressor burnt up and contaminated the lines and rest of the system.

In other words it was used as a solvent to clean the contamination out of the lines and the rest of the system.

It was cheaper than R12 at the time.

I was wondering because I have a 100 lb drum of it next to my shed, and another can in the shed. I think it is a 30# tank. It looks like an r134a 30# tank but is orange.
