My 66 f250 camper special crown Vic swap

Post by Chitown hustler »

Gentleman and ladies....

Rear end Fittment question for my slick

The p71 I got my front end is a2003
Everybody is saying its too wide to work on the truck.
It's is 67 inches flange to flange.

It needs a rebuild anyway pinion seal was shot and empty of fluid.
Since I'm running 5 x 4.5 up front

I'm looking for advice on what you are running
Using the 4.6 msd with a carb and aod Trans from the p71
What would you Run
Please advise

You might check out the rear end from a 79-81 (I believe those are the years) F100 which was a lite duty pickup (F100 NOT F150). It's about 6" wider than the stock slick rear end, which gives you the same width as the CV front and has 5 on 4.5 pattern. I was surprised to find that there are plenty of them around in the yards.
If you understand what you’re doing, you’re not learning anything.

If I get the small bolt pattern 9 inch will it also have small bearing ford flanges?
If so the rear brakes from the vic should fit??

How did the C.V. swap go? Are you putting other Spindles/Rotors on with the 8 bolt pattern or are you staying with the C.V. bolt pattern?
