What's the difference between CCT and CT?

Post by qwertyd10n »

Hey guys,

Not sure how many of you might have subscriptions either or both of these magazines, but can anyone tell me what the main difference between Custom Classic Trucks (http://www.customclassictrucks.com) and Classic Trucks (http://www.classictrucks.com) is terms of content, etc?

Cheers,
Dion

good question QWERTY... i get them both and folks may have a range of opinions given their specific interests. CCT is a little more focused on higher end builds. i tend to lean toward CT, because i think their tech articles are a bit stronger. CT recently started a series called Night School which is pure tech and focused on specific themes which allows them to go into detail: Carb tuning in one issue, Ignition systems in another. in upcoming issues they will cover trans swaps and listed our Ford's as subjects. looking forward to that.

grab a few issues and see what you think prior to subscribing. they are both Source Interlink owned and share personnel for many of the features and tech. they do not tend to overlap their featured builds.

I like both but didn't renew CT because of the cost. When I initially subscribed to CCT online they kept offering additional years for very little, so I think I wound up with a 3 year subscription. Only one year for CT for about the same price as I recall and I didn't renew.

I seem to remember CT had a facts & figures sheet after each featured vehicle that listed what was on/in them. Things such as motor, front end, etc. I know CCT does not. I liked to be able to see the summary of the build without reading the article.

CCT has one more word in its title than CT and more Fords in Fords.

I like both mags. There is quite a bit about Ford's in there but there is also more of the Chebby's. It would be cool if one of them could do a slick project.

I would really like to see a T5 behind a y-block because it is pretty common on the forums here. :hm: :hm:

FYI...There is also a brand new magazine out called "True Blue Trucks Magazine". It's geared for FORDS, the articles seem to be a bit more in-depth, and (the best part) there is MUCH less advertising to wade through.

the biggest difference is that CCT covered Slickstock 3 and NO ONE else did.
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..
