Just joined yesterday due to my father-in -law giving me A 1966 camper special. The hitch? it has been sitting for 20 years outside in Northern Michigan. My son and I spent 4 hrs cutting trees and brush around it. It will need a complete resto but I have been looking for a project and always liked the 60-66 Ford. hope to be getting some good info from this site. I will try to post a picture of the truck on this site. Thanks.

Thanks for the welcome. I have uploaded some pix in the album. Let me know if you can view them.

MADMAXETC asked if I was going to do a resto or a custom. I don't know yet but I am leaning toward mild custom.

To Stepside64: I live in Milford but did live in Sterling Heights about the time the 1966 was new.

all f250s have 8 lug wheels but usually only the 4x4 and f350 had the big opening fenders.
only other way it would have come from the factory with the big fenders is with the 17.5 or 19.5 wheels.

Welcome to club, pull up a stump :welcome:

Those pictures bear an uncanny resemblance to what my truck started out as. It has come a long way so letting you know anything is possible. This site has been a huge inspiration and just warning you, it can be addicting

The fenders have probably been swapped sometime in the past, from maybe a bodyshop fix?
This EBAY truck has obviously had it's fenders swapped at one point too.

In the early 90's, I had a friend with a shortbed '66 who had one of each on his truck.

Kekrkaki, your truck looks like it's in pretty decent shape from here. :D

kekrkaki,

I drive through Milford at least once a week to my girlfreinds place in Howell. We also have another member in Brighton who just joined up recently too... looks like we're starting to get some more members in Michigan. We also have Dan64 who's in whitmore lake, but he hasnt been on here in awhile. Hopefully we can all get together sometime and go to some cruise nights.

Here I am. It has indeed been awhile.

Let me know if you guys ever decide to get together. I sold my '64 shortbox a couple of years back, and am about to tear into my '63 uni. So, I won't have a drivable slick for awhile  but it would be nice to see some others.

Hope you all have been well.
