Actually, been a member for 6 months or so, but didn't have a slick so just been lurking. Buying a 66 longbed custom cab from a friend that decided he had too many projects. I should get the truck next weekend, if the weather is decent and I don't have to work overtime.

Plan on doing a disk brake swap and using it as a weekend driver until I decide how I want to take it. I'm also in the middle of working on a 71 shortbed project. I have a rebuilt 351W and AOD sitting on my garage floor for that onewaiting to go in. I already have front discs installed on the 71.

Anyhow, I'll be more active since most of my familiarity with ford is with the 67-79's, so I will be asking plenty of questions, and looking for parts. Thanks.

Welcome aboard! My 66 short bed came from Concord. I grew up in your area, but left a few years ago when I joined the Navy. Your in a perfect location to get new and used slick parts. Denise Carpenter, Carolina Classics and Flashback F-100s are all in easy range!

Welcome to the club dotcentral I have a cousin that has a 63 in Salisbury have tried to get him to join so he would get interested in fixing his. But he has not joined yet. Just remember these trucks are very additive.

Congrats on the new truck. Lurkin's fun but it's better when you've got your own truck waiting in the garage. Enjoy the process.

Figure I'll update on what's happened. I had to work all last weekend, but still managed to get the truck. A couple of friend's towed it down and dropped it off at Kaylle's house (user name Jonas). This was the truck Doc had if any of you know him. Anyhow, I'll try to take a few pics and copy down the data plate to get a bit more build info out of it.

Doc had patched the floorboards, swapped in a new radiator and I think some other things as well. I'm hoping to get the brakes done and do a headlight relay. Put a few miles on it, see what else it needs, and with luck start driving it.
