To the Paint Shop this week (if all goes as planned)!

The place to talk Slicks. All we ask is that discussion has something to do with slicks...

To the Paint Shop this week (if all goes as planned)!

Post by Max »

Fingers crossed. Been a looong road for my '64. I have a good game plan with the painters set up. After working a lot of hours in the garage the past few months and if all goes right this week in completing some minor stuff, the cab will go to the paint shop this week so I can get it back and start running electricial while they do the rest.

I blew off my original sandblasting idea when the painters saw the condition of the truck and said sandblasting won't eliminate any of their normal prep work as the paint was solid and that I'd just be wasting money by doing that. Works for me! These guys do nothing but hot rods and only take in 2 vehicles at a time.

Color is a secret, but it is two-tone and will follow the original factory two-tone scheme except I'm not putting the original body trim back on so the color break will follow the body lines instead. Photoshop says it looks pretty good.

Pics won't be available for awhile but my plan is to get everything bolted back together before it gets back to 150F outside next year.

If anyone peeks, they'll be introduced to my new alarm system I purchased last week. Same goes for those who squeal. Loose lips sink Slicks.

Astrowing, where are you in Clear Lake? I'm in Bay Pointe off Clear Lake City Blvd.

Max,
I'm in Meadowgreen, off Pineloch. I could tell by your GPS coordinates that you were really close.

This is the really nice time of weather in Houston that we really enjoy!

Thanks Mike, I appreciate it. I think these guys are going to come and pick everything up but will let you know if I'm mistaken.

One other note on the color - it's nothing extreme or fancy - but it is different. I'm just being a doofus about it until it's finished, so bear with me.
