Any southwestern slicks headed up there?

Post by reflectionpoint »

Hey all,

Anybody from CO/NM/UT/AZ/CA/NV/etc/etc headed up for SS?

I don't know if I could get the F350 ready in time.. I'd definitely have to re-gear that 5.13 rear end just to keep up though.. haha.

I'd just rather travel with a couple buddies in case anything goes wrong with anyone.

2-3(or 10) Toolboxes are better than one, ya?

Also a slight possibility if I get the dovetail bed I've been dreaming of, I could haul somebody up there..emphasis on slight.

Me and my wife and possibly my son are heading up there. Not sure what route to take but we are going to take our time.

I was thinking the northern route would be a little cooler temperature-wise, also a little more direct (for me, to the tune of about 400 miles).. but I'm flexible. If we get enough people going than we can make a route that's most beneficial for everyone.

There are also a number of Arizona members that should be coming, maybe Shawn from CO and some from Oregon area. Hope to see you there.

I will be headed that way too. Haven't decided which way yet. Came back through Cortez from Walsenberg last time. Doug, along with his wife and I convoyed to the last one, stayed off Interstates as much as possible. Nice gentle pace, got to see a lot more than zipping along on the big roads. I think we took about 4 days from here. Haven't given it a whole lot of thought yet. Very flexible about plans. Need more Az and/or Ca members to chime in to see what to do.

Route 66?

Post by reflectionpoint »

'The Mother Road' would be one consideration for those coming from the Southwest. Could follow it all the way to Chicago, then back track 5 hours to Altoona. Else, just follow it most of the way and branch off towards Altoona when you get close.

Get your kicks, on Route 66? Seems fitting for a group of Slicks headed to SlickStock.

Just a thought..
